ENHANCEMENTS / NEW FEATURES:
PICK DIALOGS:
1) The count of matching records is now shown in the title bar.
2) The text "No matches found" is now displayed for unsuccessful searches.
INDIVIDUAL PICK DIALOG:
1) The preferred name is now always shown on the Individual Pick Dialog. When the name match is to an identifier that is not part of the preferred name, the preferred name will still be shown first, followed by a dash, then the matched identifier. If the identifier type is of class prefix, suffix, or identifier, or if the identifier type has the "label" flag set, the identifier type will also be shown in parentheses. Nicknames will be shown in double quotes, and User ID values in brackets.
EVENTS VIEW:
1) Private text enclosed in {curly braces} can now be included in the detail text field.
PROJECTS VIEW - RESEARCH TARGETS PAGE:
1) Added button "Add Target..." to make it easier to add research targets.
RESEARCH TARGETS VIEW - LINKS PAGE:
1) Added button "Add Link..." to allow links to projects to be added on this page.
RESEARCH TARGETS PICK DIALOG:
1) Added filtering by main-item ID and sub-item ID.
CHARTS:
1) When editing a saved chart without first opening a database, the picture tool now allows media to be selected directly from the file system.
REPORT OPTIONS:
1) Custom Reports - Field options: Added "Blank". When set, the contents of the field are used for spacing on the report, but no text is output. This makes it easier to indent or align columns after an inserted line break. It can also be used to add space on a report for data entry blanks or any other spacing purposes.
2) The "Source Citation" dropdown list (Omit, Full, Brief) and the "in text" check box have been moved from the Content Page to the Detail Page. This provides the user with all the source citation options in one place.
REPORTS:
1) Improved the "no wrap" sizing of columns.
CUSTOM REPORTS - PROJECTS:
1) Added fields for outputting full set of reseach target data items.
2) Added new report "Projects with Research Targets".
3) Added fields for outputting full set of research search data items.
OTHER:
1) Icons are now shown on the "Open Windows" list on the Windows Menu.
PROBLEM CORRECTIONS:
EXPORT OPTIONS:
1) Corrected loading of saved options files, and also the operation of the "Reload" button.
GEDCOM EXPORT:
1) Corrected export of notes that begin with a blank line.
2) Added "GENViewer" as an intended destination program choice.
3) Using a saved list for the key individuals now works correctly.
4) A FAMC tag is now added to all "secondary type = parents" events to identify the parent family. Previously, it was only included on ADOP (adoptive) and SLGC (LDS sealing) events.
5) The name part tags (NPFX, NICK, NSFX) now always appear subordinate to the primary name: When they have their own notes, citations, or flags, these will now appear at a lower level.
6) Name links to defining events are now exported correctly.
7) Only general notes and research notes are now processed for embedded field codes.
GEDCOM IMPORT:
1) Citations on event dates and places are now linked correctly.
2) Parent family flags are now imported correctly.
GENBOX IMPORT:
1) Source Templates: Source Template Level is now correctly imported.
INDIVIDUAL NAMES:
1) Corrected a problem with saving the phonetic name coding, which is used by the "Phonetic" search option on the Individuals Pick Dialog. Use "Refresh Data" to update the phonetic coding on an existing database.
PLACE NAME ENTRY:
The auto-complete routine was modified to give better results:
1) If the last key pressed before pressing ENTER or TAB is the DELETE key or the BACKSPACE key, any new places will automatically bring up the confirm dialog. This behavior allows you to delete the auto-complete portion if it's not showing the place you want.
2) If you add a space to the end of your entry, this tells the place name parser not to add anything: no auto-complete text, and no higher levels; the truncated length is honored.
3) For auto-complete: name variants that match the length of entered input are no longer favored over longer, partial matches unless user intentionally truncated the input to indicate an exact length. For example: entry of "Dartford, Ken" will now auto-complete to "Dartford, Kent, England" even though the Chapman County Code for Kent is "KEN". By auto-completing the longer string, the user will know whether the system has recognized the correct place, and can continue typing if what he really intended was, for example, "Dartford, Kenya".
PICK DIALOGS:
1) Blank lines that would sometimes appear above the first record have been corrected.
INDIVIDUAL PICK DIALOG:
1) Search on preferred names has been corrected.
2) Entry of a new name with a suffix is now parsed and saved correctly.
FILE "SAVE AS" DIALOGS:
1) File name extensions are now validated.
ALL CONTACTS PAGES: (Individuals, Researchers, Places, Correspondence Log)
1) Display of a multi-level local site has been corrected.
LISTS VIEW:
1) When selecting a range of items by holding down the shift key and using the UP/DOWN arrow keys, contracting the range is now supported.
2) For Potential Problems: corrected count of number of problems displayed in the title bar.
3) Removed tab characters from display of notes text.
4) If Genbox is started with "Filters" or "Marks" as the default list, and a query is performed, the query results list now appears normally.
5) Blank lines that would sometimes appear above the first list member have been corrected.
6) Dragging a family list to "Filter" has been disabled.
7) When list names are showing in the right pane instead of list items, you can now right-click a list name, choose "Copy", then paste it to a target list in the tree pane, to have all members of that list pasted.
8) Copying selected list items from the Potential Problems list and pasting to Filters has been corrected.
LIST AS "PICK DIALOG":
1) When selecting a list of individuals for export (or other purposes), double-clicking on list members now has no effect.
SOURCE TEMPLATES VIEW:
1) Source templates can now be deleted successfully.
SOURCES, SOURCE CITATIONS:
1) Disabled entry of field codes into annotation, lead text, rationale, and source general notes & research notes.
FIELD CODE DIALOG:
1) The dropdown list size of the "Name Variants" box is now set correctly.
SOURCE FIELD CODE DIALOG:
1) Corrected initialization problem that would show a blank list of valid field codes after second or third time opened.
VIEW WINDOWS:
1) When adding a new record, the view header fields (ID, Name, Filter Button) are disabled.
PLACES VIEW:
1) Multi-level local sites are now shown in full on the Places Links Tab.
PLACES VIEW - GENERAL PAGE:
1) Corrected editing of the "higher place" which sometimes would be stored incorrectly.
INDIVIDUALS VIEW:
1) When multiple name parts are entered under source lock mode, all name parts now get a source citation.
2) During initial data entry of a new name, name parts are once again recognized and parsed out as separate names: 'John "Johnny" Smith (Smythe), fisherman of Broad Cove' is parsed into birth name "John Smith", nickname "Johnny", other name "Smythe", and suffix title "fisherman of Broad Cove".
3) Other names that are surnames are now identified correctly.
INDIVIDUALS VIEW - IDENTIFIERS PAGE:
1) When positioned on a "new" identifier line, all controls below the list are now disabled.
INDIVIDUALS VIEW - ATTRIBUTES PAGE:
1) Language changes and event template changes to attribute event types are now reflected on the Attributes Page as soon as it becomes active again. The dropdown list is also sorted.
INDIVIDUALS VIEW - EVENTS PAGE:
1) Use of the "Alternate Event" flag has been corrected. Also, the current event is now disabled in the pick list for the alternate event choice, and "Event A alternate to Event B alternate to Event A" double-links are detected and corrected.
2) Corrected storage of place names that initially had a local site stored in the place field.
FIELD CODES DIALOG:
1) For the "Witnesses" category: added ability to select filter option "When single witness". When selected, the single quote modifier (') is added to eithe WW or WWR.
CORRESPONDENCE VIEW:
1) Fixed jump to Researchers.
2) New researchers can be added on the Detail Page and the Researcher Pick Dialog.
3) Fixed row highlighting.
4) The toolbar record movement buttons now follow the current sorting.
5) Multiple records can be selected by holding down the SHIFT key and using the up/down arrows.
6) Sort on correspondent has been corrected. Note: sorting is in three groups: individuals, place contacts, and researchers.
7) New correspondence records added on the Detail Page now appear on the Log Page without needing to reopen the view.
PROJECTS PICK DIALOG:
1) Fixed the "Select All" option when used in report options.
2) The "Update" button is now enabled as soon as data edits begin.
CHARTS:
1) OLE linked objects: corrected moving and zoom sizing.
2) Titles option "Label Generations" in combination with layout option "Stagger Leaves" now works correctly.
3) Page numbers are now hidden when zoom size is too small for correct display.
4) Legend box: vertical alignment between citation note numbers and text has been corrected.
5) When both "minimize straddle" and "stagger leaves" are checked, the drop lines to the staggered boxes no longer have the potential to go through higher boxes.
REPORTS:
1) Events with undefined tags now generate a warning message.
2) Corrected missing witness information.
3) Children on Children Lists that are missing all vitals information are now shown as just a single name instead of a doubled name.
CUSTOM REPORTS:
1) Corrected output of source citations and event notes.
2) Corrected name sorts.
